Zimbabwe wants lion-killer Palmer to face charges

(DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY OXFORD UNIVERSITY / REUTERS) – Zimbabwe’s environment minister Oppah Muchinguri says she wants Dr Walter Palmer brought back to Zimbabwe to face charges for killing Cecil — Zimbabwe’s celebrated lion.

She says Palmer left the country before charges could be laid.

ZIMBABWE’S MINISTER FOR ENVIRONMENT, WATER AND CLIMATE, OPPAH MUCHINGURI,

“We are therefore appealing to the responsible authorities for his extradition to Zimbabwe, so that he be made accountable for his illegal actions.”

But the trophy hunter is still no where to be found, neither at his home in Minneapolis or his vacation house in southern Florida.

If he does show up there, a message taped to his door awaits him.

Palmer admits to killing the 13-year-old lion, but says he hired professional guides and thought the hunt was legal.
