Japan says ‘unaware’ of Las Vegas shooter’s girlfriend’s whereabouts

The Japanese government on Tuesday says it is unaware of any information at this point corroborating Las Vegas police who say the long-time girlfriend of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock is in Tokyo.

TOKYO, JAPAN (TV TOKYO/ REUTERS) – Japanese government on Tuesday (October 3) said it is unaware of any information at this point corroborating Las Vegas sheriffs comments earlier that the long-time girlfriend of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock is in Tokyo.

Marilou Danley, 62, is believed to be an Australian citizen born in the Philippines and possibly visiting relatives in the Philippines at the time of the shooting, though U.S. authorities now believe she could be in Tokyo.

U.S. police are interested in interviewing her as a person of interest, though not as a suspect.

Danley’s boyfriend Stephen Paddock, armed with multiple assault rifles strafed an outdoor country music festival in Las Vegas from a high-rise hotel window on Sunday (October 1), slaughtered at least 59 people in the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history before killing himself.
