New glass skywalk offers tourists stunning experience in north China

China Central Television (CCTV)- A newly-opened glass skywalk in the East Taihang Scenic Area in Handan City, north China’s Hebei Province, offers tourists a chance to get a stunning experience when strolling over it.

The glass skywalk is built at an altitude of 1,180 meters with tempered laminated glass of 30 millimeters thick. It is 266 meters long and two meters wide.

When tourists step onto the last part of the skywalk, they will have the most thrilling experience. The glass looks as if cracked and you can even hear the sound of cracking.

“This is an effect of human body induction. When one steps on it, the computer will have an interaction to make the glass look and sound cracked,” said Yang Zhiqiang, a staff member with East Taihang Scenic Area.
