CALABASAS, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (MAY 11, 2017) (REUTERS) – Fashion house Dior went to a new frontier with their latest collection, switching Paris for California and giving the latest collection a distinct Western style.

Models walked the dusty catwalk in the hills of Calabasas wearing Western-inspired outfits fringed with Mexican or Peruvian patterns.

The show, which was set up in the wilderness surrounding Los Angeles was attended by the likes of Rihanna, Charlize Theron, Kate Bosworth and singer Nick Jonas.

The show was designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, who admitted before the show that she wants the collection to be seen as a number of pieces rather than complete outfits.

She told Reuters the day before the show, “I think that the modern Dior woman has to be really playful, has to play with fashion, has to, I don’t want to impose nothing, I want to have a dialogue with the new generation of Dior women, that they can choose the piece, they can mix in different way, more open mind.”
