“The Hitman’s Bodyguard” set to top weekend box office

(LIONSGATE) – “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” is set to rifle its way to the top of the North American weekend box office from Friday (August 18) to Sunday (August 20).

The film, which stars Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson, follows an agent who is charged with guarding the life of his enemy. It’s predicted to bring in 16 – 17 million dollars, according to studio estimates published by BoxOfficePro.

Also, new this weekend will be “Logan Lucky.” The film stars Channing Tatum and Adam Driver as two brothers who set out to rob a major race at a motor speedway. It’s expected to earn 10 – 11 million dollars over its debut weekend.

Holding over from previous weeks, “Annabelle: Creation” should see another 14 million added to its global haul of 99 million; “Dunkirk” is expected to take in an additional 7 million to its international earnings of 375 million; and “The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature” should see 5 million added to its worldwide tally of 11 million dollars.
