“Fate of the Furious” leaves its competitiors in the dust, claiming the top spot in the North American box office for a third straight week.

(UNIVERSAL PICTURES) – “The Fate of the Furious,” the latest installment in the action-filled franchise, held onto the top spot at the North American box over the weekend. (April 28-30) for the third straight week in a row.

The film netted $19.4 million over the weekend. “How to be a Latin Lover” starring Salma Hayek, Rob Lowe and Kristen Bell, earned $12 million, and took the second place spot.

Fans of the Indian magnum-opus “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” swarmed movie theaters, sending the film into third place with a $10.5 million haul. The film is a sequel to “Baahubali: The Beginning,” and uses computer-generated imagery to depict ancient kingdoms and bloody wars in the battle of good versus evil.

“The Circle” with Tom Hanks and Emma Watson took the fourth place spot with $9.3 million. The film which focuses on concerns about privacy in an increasingly high tech world has been hobbled by poor reviews including a %17 percent score from the movie review website rottentomatoes.com, Variety reported.

The fifth spot went to animated feature “Boss Baby” which brought in $9.1 million over the weekend.
